We Need your Help to Stop the Somerby Wind Turbine!no-windturbine

At 80m tall plans were withdrawn only to be re-submitted to erect a slightly smaller one at 61 metres tall. The plan is to erect a  wind turbine in a beautiful rural field close to the Leicestershire Round Footpath and a well used bridleway.

It is intended that the application will be considered by the Planning Committee on 26th June 2014 at Parkside, Station Approach, Burton Street, Melton Mowbray, Leics, LE13 1GH, commencing at 6:00 pm. You would be welcome to attend the meeting and observe the determination of the application.

This turbine will be visible from five villages in a designated conservation area and will be a real blot on the landscape.

Numerous people enjoy riding, cycling and walking through this glorious landscape and their path will take them within metres of the proposed turbine. The peace and tranquility of this rural idyll will be shattered by the noise and motion of the turbine.

It will have a huge impact on Somerby Equestrian Centre so we are asking all our customers to help us in our quest to object to this planning application.

You can support us by objecting too - it's not difficult, you can even do online via the Melton Borough Council's website! Click on this link which will take you straight through to the planning application page,  the Planning Reference is 13/00540/FUL.

If it's not too late please clearly state that you wish to object and you MUST also include your full name and address.
